Bovine leather is our main raw material. All the tanneries we work with have an Environmental Certificate, which means they comply with current environmental legislation and standards and other legal requirements. They treat the water used to tan the leather and other basic pollution prevention principles, as well as correctly treating and packaging liquid and solid waste.

Leather is a natural material that has been used since the dawn of time to make clothes and artifacts. For the commercial differentiation of hides, the incidence of defects that occurred during the animal's life, such as ticks, barbed wires or branches, is taken as a parameter. Leather is considered to be of good quality when it has been properly processed and has the characteristics described above, i.e. the lower the incidence of defects, the higher its commercial value.

To hide the defects, many techniques are used to completely finish and homogenize the material. After the leather has been tanned, the hides are dyed in a fulão - a kind of rotating drum - painted, stamped and varnished. The greater the number of processes after dyeing, the less you see of the original leather, transforming it into a natural product covered in synthetics.

The textures that are usually seen on leather are made by hot-plating with a pattern to hide the marks that the animal has earned in life, and there are thousands of types of engraving for this effect. Every animal that has lived on pasture, and not in confinement, has some natural markings that give beauty and legitimacy to a material that is unique, after all, every skin has its own characteristics, just like ours.

Our leather is hand-selected, we opt for leather without treatments to hide it and its texture is natural, not a print. To achieve this result, you need quality in the raw material, something we consider essential, since natural leather is the most beautiful of all. Small irregularities are not considered defects, they are what give leather its beauty and legitimacy.
